The mission of the Accounting Department at Aquinas College is to provide excellence
in accounting education, preparing technically competent, broadly educated, effective

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program
IRS-certified Aquinas students provide free basic income tax return preparation to individuals who qualify.

For-profit, nonprofit, and governmental organizations all need accountants in order to function properly. In addition, public accounting firms offering services in tax, assurance, and consulting have a strong demand for qualified staff. Entry-level positions in the field of accounting generally provide excellent opportunities for advancement.

Hear from the Accounting Department
Seven years after its founding, the Juan Olivarez STEM Scholars Program continues to provide participants with the resources, community support and skill building workshops they need to succeed at Aquinas College. You may have seen Protein Pints, a new protein-packed ice cream product, in the news recently. What you might not know is the product got its start here at Aquinas College. This summer, Dr. Joseph Spencer is conducting research with Edin Mehanovic, a senior math major and data analytics minor, through the Mohler-Thompson Summer Research Program to better understand a game mechanism you might recognize: Mancala. These Mohler-Thompson Summer Researchers are studying the genes of anemones to better understand coral bleaching.
