Harry C. Veryser served as the Director of Graduate Studies in economics at the University
of Detroit Mercy from 2007-2012. Prior to this, he served as chair, and associate
professor of the Economics and Finance department at Walsh College for twenty years,
where he also established the Master of Arts in Economics program. He retired from
Walsh College in 2007 with the rank of Distinguished Professor. He has also served
on the faculties of several institutions including Northwood University, Thomas More
College of Liberal Arts, and St. Mary鈥檚 College-Orchard Lake. His teaching and guest
lectures have taken him to several places around the world including Hong Kong, China,
Canada, and throughout Western Europe.
In addition to his work in the academy, Professor Veryser served as chair of the board
of Directors of Stampings Inc., a light manufacturing company in Fraser, Michigan
with a division in Harlingen, Texas, until its merger with Spring Engineering in 2005.
Presently, he has semi-retired to more fully pursue writing and research, but he continues
to teach part-time at The University of Detroit Mercy, Macomb Community College, the
University of South Florida, and Aquinas College.
Professor Veryser received his undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Economics and
two Master of Arts degrees in Economics and Religious Studies from the University
of Detroit.
